Dopo il clamoroso, ma successivamente rapidamente scemato, successo degli Aqua seguirono subito la moda del cosiddetto genere Bubblegum Dance (caratterizzata da sonorità giocose e allegre, da testi dolci e scherzosi che non trattano argomenti seri) i qui proposti Cartoons.

Il gruppo fece solo un paio di "hit" con un budget veramente ridotto all'osso e si alternò agli Aqua nel 1998 e nel 1999 per poi sparire ancora più velocemente di loro.

"DooDah!" is a song by the Danish bubblegum dance group Cartoons. It was released in 1998 on FLEX Records and EMI as the debut single and as well as the second track from their debut studio album, Toonage (1998).

It is a song that was originally inspired by traditional "Camptown Races" and its Eurodance adaptation written by Jesper Dukholt (Sponge), Erling Jensen (Shooter) and Martin Østengaard (Toonie) and produced by Michael Pfundheller, Sponge and Toonie.

Album

Toonage is the debut album from the Danish bubblegum dance group Cartoons. It was released in 1998 and was a huge success for the band. The album inside keeps the group's biggest hit "Witch Doctor", a cover version of Ross Bagdasarian's song from 1958. It reached # 2 on the UK Singles Chart.

The first single "DooDah!", adapted from American folk song "Camptown Races", was a big hit also in several countries, including Denmark, where it reached # 3 on the Danish charts.

The album was rereleased in 1999 titled More Toonage which contained more songs than the original.

Cartoons, also known as Cartoons DK, were a bubblegum dance and country pop band from Denmark, best known for their Eurodance cover of the 1958 novelty song "Witch Doctor" by Ross Bagdasarian and their "DooDah!" song, both hits of 1998, as well as for their outlandish plastic costumes and wigs used in live performances as caricatures of 1950s American Rock and roll stars.

The Cartoons were originally called "The Scooters" in the late 1980s , and played rockabilly music from the 1950s and 1960s. In 1994, The Scooters released the album Live at Woodstock.

In 1997, the group changed its name to Cartoons, and began making "technobilly" music, which was the group's own expression of rock 'n' roll mixed with eurodance.

I Cartoons sono stati un gruppo musicale danese nato nel 1998. I componenti sono travestiti da personaggi dei cartoni animati, con enormi parrucche e vestiti larghi e coloratissimi.
