Gossip in the Grain is singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne's third full-length release, which was released on October 14, 2008. The album was produced by Ethan Johns and recorded in Box, England. Along with his band members, LaMontagne is also joined by singer/songwriter Leona Naess on "A Falling Through" and "I Still Care for You." As commented on LaMontagne's website, the new album "proves to be his most creative and emotionally expansive collection to date."

The album hit #1 in album sales on iTunes on its release day.

Raymond Charles "Ray" LaMontagne (Nashua, 18 giugno 1973) è un cantautore e musicista statunitense.

Il suo album di maggior successo (Trouble) è entrato nella top 5 della classifica inglese. È conosciuto per la sua caratteristica voce roca ed ha partecipato a numerosi eventi musicali organizzati per raccogliere fondi come quello del 2005 per le vittime dell'uragano Katrina. Ha vinto negli Stati Uniti alcuni premi di secondo piano come il Boston Music Award e l'Esky Music Awards della rivista Esquire come miglior voce dell'anno 2006.
