Yours to Keep, the debut solo album by The Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr, was released October 9, 2006 in the UK through Rough Trade Records and was released in North America on March 6, 2007 through New Line Records/Scratchie Records.

The first single taken from it, "Everyone Gets a Star", was released as download only, and the first full single is "Back to the 101". The album also featured help from Sean Lennon, with whom Albert had attended school at Institut Le Rosey. In tracklist we found In Transit.

Albert Hammond Jr. (né Hammond III; born April 9, 1980) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter and music producer. He is most famous for his role as rhythm and lead guitarist, as well as occasional keyboard player and backing vocalist, in the American rock band The Strokes.

He is the son of singer-songwriter Albert Hammond. Hammond Jr. released his debut album Yours To Keep in 2006 and followed up with ¿Cómo Te Llama? in 2008, an EP, AHJ, in 2013, and a third album, Momentary Masters, released in 2015. He released his fourth solo album, Francis Trouble, through Red Bull Records on March 9, 2018.

Storia

Figlio della scrittrice di canzoni Claudia Fernández e del cantante Albert Hammond, a 13 anni fu mandato alla scuola privata Institut Le Rosey. Lì incontrò Julian Casablancas, futuro membro e leader della band.

Nel 1998, Albert è l'ultimo arrivato in casa Strokes (i fondatori sono Nick Valensi, Julian Casablancas e Fabrizio Moretti). Fin dall'inizio ha dovuto lavorare duro per rimanere nella band viste le sue doti certamente non pari a quelle di Nick. Con il tempo ha perfezionato il suo stile divenendo un valido membro della rock band come afferma anche l'altro chitarrista.

Il 9 ottobre 2006 è uscito il suo primo album solista, intitolato Yours to Keep. Alle registrazioni dell'album hanno partecipato numerosi ospiti, Sean Lennon, Mikki James, il manager degli The Strokes Ryan Gentles, Julian Casablancas e molti altri, oltre alla band che segue Albert Hammond Jr. anche dal vivo, il batterista di riserva degli The Strokes Matt Romano e il bassista Josh Lattanzi.
