Reckoning Song è un brano musicale del cantautore israeliano Asaf Avidan e cantato dal gruppo Asaf Avidan and the Mojos. La versione originale di questo titolo è alla traccia numero 5 dell'album del 2008 The Reckoning. Nel 2012 il brano è stato remixato dal dj tedesco Wankelmut (Jacob Dilßner). Il 13 febbraio 2013.

Remix

La versione remixata del brano intitolata One Day/Reckoning Song (Wankelmut Rmx) prodotta dal tedesco DJ Wankelmut, Avidan e Ori Winokur, è divenuto un grande successo in molte classifiche europee, al primo posto in Austria, Belgio, Svizzera, Paesi Bassi, Germania e Italia. Il brano è stato pubblicato dall'etichetta FourMusic e distribuito in Europa dalla Sony.

Per l'uscita del singolo il 22 giugno 2012 è stato realizzato un video musicale. Il video è diretto da Daniel Franke e Sander Houtkruijer e con la performance di Voin de Voin e Stephanie Ballantine, nonché Blagoy Veogalb. Vi sono due versioni del video di cui una definita "Day Version" poiché è ambientata totalmente di giorno.

Album

The Reckoning is an album by the Israeli band Asaf Avidan & the Mojos, released in Israel in 2008. The album's 15 tracks blended rock, folk and blues with Avidan's lyrics about relationships and betrayal. It was certified gold status in a year, and platinum later, and would eventually become the biggest selling "independent" record of all time in Israel. It was chosen as Album of the Year (2008) by various media, including Time Out Tel Aviv.

"Reckoning Song" was the first single released from the album in Israel. It would eventually become a huge international hit for Asaf Avidan retitled and remixed as "One Day / Reckoning Song (Wankelmut Rmx)".

"Weak", the second single of the album, became a huge radio hit and its video was "Video of the Year" on Israel's music channel. "Weak" would also be the title song of the film L'Arbre (English title The Tree) by Julie Bertuccelli, which starred Charlotte Gainsbourg and was the closing film at Cannes Film Festival 2010.

Asaf Avidan (in ebraico: אסף אבידן‎; Gerusalemme, 23 marzo 1980) è un cantautore e musicista israeliano.

È leader e mente creativa di Asaf Avidan & the Mojos, un gruppo folk rock israeliano che ha fondato nel 2006 a Gerusalemme e con il quale ha pubblicato tre album. Asaf Avidan è l'autore del brano di successo internazionale One Day/Reckoning Song.

Asaf Avidan è nato a Gerusalemme nel 1980. I suoi genitori sono entrambi diplomatici e lavorano per il ministero di affari esteri israeliano. Avidan ha vissuto quattro anni della sua infanzia in Giamaica.

Dopo aver svolto il servizio militare obbligatorio in Israele, Avidan ha studiato animazione nella Accademia di belle arti Bezalel a Gerusalemme. Il suo ultimo cortometraggio, Find Love Now, ha vinto in una categoria alla Haifa Film Festival.
